Hosea 2 | Beth Immanuel Messianic Synagogue

Hosea 2

A Heart to Know

Along the path on our journey to the Kingdom, we must acquire knowledge. In this lesson we learn about the Jewish concept of knowledge, what it means to know God, and the steps involved in gaining knowledge.

Hosea and the Last Kings of Israel

A series of brutal assasinations brings an end to the dynasties of the kings of Israel. Here is the story of the prophet Hosea, his unhappy marriage to Gomer, and the last kings of Israel before the Assyrian deportation.

For their hearts are like an oven As they approach their plotting; Their anger smolders all night, In the morning it burns like a flaming fire. (Hosea 7:6)

The Stumbling Stone

What about the Jewish people who rejected the Messiah? Did God "harden" their hearts? Why did they stumble over Yeshua, and what were the implications? Did the Messianic promises fail? Romans 9 is a pivotal passage for understanding Paul's theology regarding Messiah and Israel. This teaching takes the most difficult chapter of the Epistle to the Romans head on from a Messianic Jewish perspective.

So then he has mercy on whomever he wils, and he hardens whomever he wills. (Romans 9:18)
