More about salvation

Can Jews be "saved" even if they do not become Christians? In his famous Dialogue with Trypho, the second century apostolic father Justin Martyr reports a non-canonical saying of the Master which sheds significant light on the meaning of "salvation" in the New Testatment Era: "In whatsoever thngs I find you, "In whatsoever things I shall take you, in these I shall judge you."

What if you have been following the wrong Jesus? Do you think that the wrong Jesus can save you? This teaching discusses the problem with making correct theology a criteria for salvation.

Clement of Rome briefly recaps the stories of the persecutions and trials endured by Peter and Paul and the disciples in the Neronic persecution and Circus Neronis. This lesson covers 1 Clement 5-8 and includes important Apostolic Era tradition, teachings on repentance, and the efficacious nature of the suffering of the Messiah for salvation in all generations.

Lesson two in our read-thru of Ephesians. If we understood the full implication of our salvation through Yeshua, we would not be concerned with status, prestige, social class or caste, nationality or ancestry, because the exaltatio of Messiah transcends all of that.

If salvation is not intended to get us into heaven, what's the point? This teaching introduces the concept of the exile of God' Dwelling Presence, and the objective of the commandment to build a sanctuary.

Taking a fresh look at salvation of the soul from the Jewish perspective reveals a completely different way of understanding the teaching of Yeshua and the message of the apostles.

What does "salvation" mean? This teaching introduces the broad range of ways the Bible uses the term salvation and considers problems with the conventional definition of the term among believers.

What does the normal disciple of Messiah look like? Here's a challenging teaching on the difference between the average disciple of Yeshua and the normal disciple of Yeshua.

What about the Jewish people who rejected the Messiah? Did God "harden" their hearts? Why did they stumble over Yeshua, and what were the implications? Did the Messianic promises fail? Romans 9 is a pivotal passage for understanding Paul's theology regarding Messiah and Israel. This teaching takes the most difficult chapter of the Epistle to the Romans head on from a Messianic Jewish perspective.

So then he has mercy on whomever he wils, and he hardens whomever he wills. (Romans 9:18)

Does God predestine some people for salvation and others for torment? Where does that leave free choice? In this teaching on Romans 8, we look beyond the weary argument about predestination and free will to try to understand the words of the Apostle Paul from within the context of the argument he is making. Take a closer look at the meaning of resurrection and the hope in which we were saved.
