"To those who are without Torah, I become as without Torah, though not being without the Torah of God but under the Torah of Messiah." What is the Torah of Messiah? How can there be a New Torah or different Torah? This teaching from the Second Day of Shavuot draws on the teachings of Lubavitcher Rebbe to unlock the msytery behind Isaiah 51:4, "A Torah will go forth from me" and the New Torah of Messiah, illuminating the meaning of several difficult texts in the apostolic writings and the significance of the New Covenant.

The Talmud says that before God inflicts a wound he creates the cure. Yeshua of Nazareth, the prophet of the second Temple, taught the cure to the wound that the nation was about to undergo. It's all about love.

It's often said that the Jewish people did not recognize the Messiah because they were anticipating a powerful warrior not a gentle teacher. That's not the case. The Messiah is a teacher of Torah and rabbi who leads the nation back to the Torah through repentance. Reason number 3 for believing Yeshua is the Messiah is that he is the rabbi to all Israel.  

The siddur is not a hymnal; it is a symphony. It has been carefully composed to guide the soul through the unfolding drama of redemption. Far from being a random collection of prayers, the traditional Jewish prayer book is deliberately structured to echo the story of Israel’s salvation and to awaken our longing for its fulfillment. This lecture explores how the rhythms and themes of the siddur prepare us to recognize, desire, and live in the light of redemption.

Messianic Judaism has an awkward relationship with the symbolism of the cross. Tisha Be’Av shows us how to recontextualize the cross, its meaning, and its atoning virtue in connection with the fall of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Temple.
