Beth Immanuel Torah School 2016-2017
We are very excited to announce that we will be expanding the Beth Immanuel Torah School (BITS) for the 2016-2017 school year.
We will be offering two distinct classes to better serve the educational and developmental needs of the students.
5-9 Year Old Class:
- Time: Every Sunday from 10:00am-11:00am (No snack time).
- Focus on learning the weekly parsha with an emphasis on learning through storytelling, play and song.
- Using the Parsha Play (www.parshaplay.com) curriculum and books from the Beth Immanuel Children's Library.
- Cost: $20 material fee for each child.
- Optional Cost: $20 for nine issues of Dubon (a monthly children's magazine designed to help kids learn Modern Hebrew). Check out a sample.
10-15 Year Old Class:
- Time: Every Sunday from 10:00am-12:00pm (Snack time between the two teaching sessions).
- Biblical Hebrew:
- Using the Biblical Language Center's curriculum (www.biblicallanguagecenter.com), students will learn to read and understand basic Biblical Hebrew.
- Students will be responsible to practice the lesson 10 minutes a day during the week.
- Chronicles of Messiah: Using the Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels and Torah Club: Chronicle of Messiah, students will read, research questions using commentary and discuss a weekly gospel portion.
- Cost: Each student (or pair of students if they live in the same house) will need the Biblical Language Center's Living Biblical Hebrew: Part One curriclum ($69 for Book and Mp3 Audio, other options at https://www.biblicallanguagecenter.com/product/living-biblical-hebrew/ ).
- Optional Cost: $20 for nine issues of Dubon (a monthly children's magazine designed to help kids learn Modern Hebrew). Check out a sample at https://ivritpublications.com/magazinetype/sample/.
Both classes will begin Sunday, September 11th.
