Happy Hanukkah from all of us at Beth Immanuel.

This Shabbat, we will celebrate fifteen years since our first services took place during Hanukkah of 2002. The past fifteen years have been nothing if not an adventure in the kingdom of heaven. Our close relationship with the ministry of First Fruits of Zion has placed Beth Immanuel at a strategic intersection of ideas in the world of Messianic Judaism and Jewish roots. We have occupied the contested territory of Messianic Jewish and Messianic Gentile identites. Together we have weathered theological storms and philosophical disagreements which have, at times, threatened to swallow this tiny community of Yeshua’s disciples. Like the courageous Maccabees, however, we have taken a firm stand on the Bible, holding fast to Messiah and the message of the kingdom, and we have placed our fate in the hands of our Father in heaven. With God’s help, we have come this far already, and today, fifteen years since we set out on the journey, the community is stronger and healthier than ever before. Best of all, the best is yet to come.
