Spring Semester Class List

Class Name: Bad Arguments Against Religion

Teacher: Israel Nick Amic

Description: Today’s followers of Messiah are continually bombarded with sound-bites and social media memes that make fun of or come against their faith. This semester we’ll cut through the empty words, name-calling, and hollow arguments by learning how to examine religious, spiritual, and truth claims in the light of our rich spiritual heritage. If you’ve ever wanted to speak up for Messiah but were too afraid or didn’t know what to say, this class will help! We’ll equip you to think through issues critically and to respond in a peaceful way which will make a difference for our Messiah!

Day and Time: Thursdays from 6:10pm-7:10pm Central Time

Class Name: The Life of King David

Teacher: Yoshi McLeod

Description: The rise and reign of King David is the high point of the story of Tanakh. David rose from being a young, rejected shepherd boy to the most memorable and beloved King of Israel. He fought battles, built a kingdom in the heartland of ancient Israel, yearned for Hashem, and wrote poetry that resonates in our hearts until this day. Hashem loved David so much that he called him a man after his own heart. Who was this servant of Hashem? Together we will track the life of King David and deepen our understanding of the story of Tanakh.

Day and Time: Tuesdays from 7pm-8pm Central Time

Age Group: 6th-8th Grades

 

Class Name: Yeshua: Messiah or Meshugana?

Teacher: Abby Schwab

Description: Have you ever asked yourself what makes someone a messiah and how we know Yeshua is the right one? In this class, we will explore the prophecies throughout the Tanakh about the coming messiah. We will learn how to determine who is the real Messiah and what to do when we encounter a false one. Join our class on this in-depth discovery of how Yeshua fits into Hashem’s plan of redemption.

Day and Time: Mondays from 5pm-6pm Central Time

Age group: 9th-12th Grades

 

Class Name: Family Partner Study: Pirkei Avot

Teacher: Jonathan Hughes, M.Ed.

Description: Connect with your family, connect with the wisdom of the sages and connect with the traditional method of partner study in this exciting, family-centered class. Join us as we learn the art of chavruta (partner study) while we go through a beautiful edition of Pirkei Avot (Ethics of Our Fathers). Hear the echoes of Yeshua’s teachings as we learn from the sages before him, his contemporaries and those who carried the light of Torah after the destruction of the Temple. Class Name: The Messianic Era and Yeshua’s Teachings

Teacher: Jonathan Hughes, M.Ed.

Description: Young disciples of Yeshua will see his teachings come alive. Packed with lessons on the way of discipleship, each student will come away with a clear idea of their purpose and practical ways of living out their faith according to the teachings of Yeshua. Fun, engaging and practical. Current students have been learning about the Messianic Era in the fall semester, but new students can join us for the spring semester when we transition to learning about Yeshua's teachings for us.
