Gospel Chapter a Day: Perek Yomi
Happy New Year,
It's almost Rosh Hashanah, and Beth Immanuel has a new-year's gift for you.
We are inviting you to study through the four gospels with us this year by reading a chapter a day. The Gospel Perek Yomi (Chapter a Day) reading cycle begins with Matthew 1 on Rosh HaShanah. We read a chapter of gospel every day through the ensuing year, thereby completing all four gospels five times.
Read the Gospel Perek Yomi text online on your laptop or handheld device at bethimmanuel.org/daily
The online ap includes the daily chapter from the gospels, a daily section from the Torah portion, daily pslams to complete the book of Psalms once a month, and an inspiring thought from our Messianic Jewish luminaries. If you miss a day of study, don't try to backtrack or play catch-up. (Feeling like you have fallen behind will discourage you from continuing.) Just read today's chapter. If you miss a day or two, you will have another opportunity next time around.
The Gospel Perek Yomi readings are part of a larger campaign for the new year at Beth Immanuel. As we begin the Jewish year 5777, I am asking our community to commit to forming three consistent habits with the objective of spiritual transformation:
1. Daily prayer and study
2. Daily acts of charitable giving
3. Regular weekly attendance

May you be inscribed in the book of life for a sweet new year,
Daniel Thomas Lancaster
