Join us at Beth Immanuel this Shabbat as we join with synagogues throughout North America to honor the eleven slain in last Saturday's Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. 

Solidarity Shabbat: We Stand with Pittsburgh   

Our regular Shabbat service will include special psalms, a reading of the eleven names, a dedicated recitation of the mourner's kaddish, and a teaching about the antidote to hatred.

During the seven weeks of the Omer, Beth Immanuel is learning Rabbi Mark Kinzer's short booklet on the laws of proper speech: Taming the Tongue. 

There are seven chapters in the book, so we are going to study one chapter per week during the seven weeks of the Counting of the Omer.

The two days of Rosh Chodesh Elul begins Monday night, Aug 21 and concludes at sunset Wednesday August 23. From Rosh Chodesh Elul until Yom Kippur, we concentrate on repentance, charity, and prayer in anticipation of the coming judgment. On Elul 1 (August 22), Beth Immanuel will hold a 7:00 AM Rosh Chodesh morning service featuring the blowing of the shofar as a reminder of the impending holidays and the call to repentance.

This Saturday night, after the Sabbath, join us at 7:00 PM for a "Come Home to Hudson" seminar on home buying. Beth Immanuel hosts Realtor Tamara Early along with a mortgage lender, home inspector, title company representative, and insurance agent to explain the process of preparing to shop for and purchase a home in Hudson (or anywhere).
